MoCA – Museums of Serbia, 10 days from 10 to 10

Programme | 09.05.2015

Museum of Contemporary Art – Museums of Serbia, 10 days from 10 to 10

As part of the event “Museums of Serbia, ten days from 10 to 10”, we are inviting visitors to take part in the programme organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art:

Programme of the Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art “Emerging...”

12, 17 and 18 May

Pariska 14

Museum of Contemporary Art organizes several days of programme in MoCA Salon where the visitors will have the chance to learn about the entire process of creating an exhibition. In this way the public will get firsthand experience of the stages that artists and curators have to go through when devising and staging an exhibition. The programme consists of several events:

12 May from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  “OBЈЕCТively“ – in the Salon with coffee
The audience will witness the process of disassembling objects and sculptures presented at the exhibition “Some Kind of Joy” by the artist Rаdоš Аntоniјеvić. Having coffee and croissants, the visitors will have the chance to meet and talk with the artist and find out about the challenges in working with the specific materials he uses, while the curator Unа Pоpоvić will show what should be in focus when objects, installations and sculptures are exhibited on the gallery premises of the MoCA Salon.

17 May from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. “Emerging: exhibition architecture”
A special segment of curator’s work is also designing the architecture of the exhibition premises. Setting up the exhibition of contemporary art does not involve only “hanging up the paintings” but also various construction works: pulling down and putting up partition walls, painting the walls... You can talk with the Museum of Contemporary Art curators, Zоrаn Еrić and Una Pоpоvić, about the collaboration of artists and curators in finding the appropriate architectural solution and fitting and setting up the exhibition premises for each individual exhibition.

18 May from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. “From draft to drawing”

What are the challenges, problems and dilemmas faced by artists and curators during the process of devising and setting up the exhibition “Spaces of Divergence”, where they find inspiration, how they arrive at the final design for setting up the exhibition – find out for yourself from the artists Аna Knеžеvić, Nеmаnja Lаđić, Маrko Маrkоvić and the MoCA curator Žаklina Rаtkоvić.

As part of the event the visitors will be able to see also the exhibitions “Some Kind of Joy” by Radoš Antonijević and “Nothing Personal” by Miodrag Krkobabić that are currently presented as part of the regular MoCA programme.
