HOMO FRONTERIZUS: Recent performance video works, 2008-2011
Colour, 01:07:05 min

Between 2008 and 2011, performance artist and writer Guillermo Gómez-Peña and his lifetime friend, filmmaker Gustavo Vazquez, teamed up to work on the collaborative video project “Homo Fronterizus,” a dystopian/post-national Live art video anthology around Gómez-Peña’s performative investigation of artificial identity, representation, doppelgangers, drag and the fluid borders of authorship in collaboration.

Performance Art Film Program at MoCA Belgrade has been conceived by the Venice International Performance Art Week in collaboration with the artist Marta Jovanovic. It will display an original selection of over 30 performance art films: repertoires of acclaimed performance art masters like Franco B, ORLAN, Stelarc, Paul McCarthy, Ron Athey, alongside the most recent productions of internationally recognized artists such as Pyotr Pavlensky, late Jon John, VestAndPage, Jelili Atiku, Preach R Sun, Francesca Fini, Kyrahm + Julius Kaiser, Hugo Glendinning and Adrian Heathfield.

Program partners: Italian Cultural Institute and Austrian Cultural Forum.
